Verity
For five years, Victoria Kowalski’s life has been going nowhere at light speed.
A burnt-out and socially awkward space junk scavenger, Victoria’s only ambition is to meet her weekly quota and collect her meager wage. That changes when a desperate off-limits salvage run leads her to a derelict, abandoned ship hidden inside a hollowed-out asteroid.
The ship brings her face to face with two other cosmic misfits: Galena, a culture-obsessed and relentlessly cheerful amnesiac AI searching for a past that was mysteriously erased from her mind, and God the Rat, a prankish psychic rat-like alien so bored with immortal solitude that he is finally ready to rejoin the galaxy despite social rustiness and a guilty past he would rather leave behind.
Together, they form the crew of the Verity, each searching for a different facet of truth: Victoria is searching for purpose, Galena is searching for history, and God is searching for belonging and redemption.

The crew takes odd jobs at the volatile edges of space in a character-driven sci-fi adventure that blends shipboard comedy, strange worlds, intimate emotional growth, and high-stakes action against the backdrop of a cold war slowly turning hot. The fragile peace between the galaxy’s great powers is beginning to fray, and the crew’s personal mysteries gradually open onto buried political and cosmic history.
Every truth creates a new obligation. The crew are not chosen-one heroes; they matter because they are positioned at the junction of real contradictions already present in the world, and their actions involve empowering others, revealing suppressed truths, connecting with existing resistance groups, assisting everyday people, and choosing ethical commitments within struggles that predate them.
