Conversation Teaser

This scene takes place after the LS6 have entered the Blur and some of them have established a fledgling base of operations inside Casey’s major pirate-themed bubble. It is the first time Felix ever meets Casey and Edwin in person.

Felix and Casey see each other at the same moment. They run, they hug, they spin, they hop around in a small, delighted circle before either of them manages a full sentence.

“Case,” Felix says, into their shoulder.

“I always hoped this day would come,” Casey says. “Since long before we ever got here.”

“Good morning!!” Felix says, finally, thirteen hundred hours late by his own count and not sorry about the delay in the slightest. Casey beams.

Several meters back, Edwin stands with the studied patience of someone who has already decided this reunion is going to take a while, and coughs, once, to get their attention.

“Oh, come here, you dork,” Casey says, and waves him over. “This is Edwin.”

“It is awesome to see Ed too,” Felix says, and then, immediately, without any tact whatsoever: “wow you werent lying you are so short dude.”

“??? Why would I lie about that?” Edwin says, entirely unbothered, and that settles it: introductions complete.

“We should get back before nightfall,” Casey says. “Last check with Doris gave us about three hours before things get difficult out on the ocean, and that was an hour ago.”

Felix is already vibrating with the desire to see the bubble everyone keeps talking about. “It is not very cool,” Edwin warns him.

“It is cool for what it is,” Casey says, mock-offended, “but yeah, it still needs work. It will be great to have your help.”

They set off.
